Mr Redelinghuys is the Managing Director of Cape Coal and has 23 years’ experience in Financial and Project environments. After studying finance at University of Pretoria Mr Redelinghuys joined Price Waterhouse Coopers, before commencing his employment with EXXARO Resources (previously Iscor and Kumba Resources) in 1995. Since 1995 Mr Redelinghuys held various senior management positions in the Corporate Office and on both open cut and underground operations in South Africa while also serving as a director in Australia.
Further to his business analysis experience Mr Redelinghuys has extensive experience in acquisitions and deal making on an international level. Mr Redelinghuys is currently the owner’s representative in a multi-billion dollar underground coal project in Queensland and has conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Queensland coal environment for junior exploration and development companies. In 2013 Mr Redelinghuys became a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
B. Eng. Mining, M. Eng. Project Management
Mr Van Deventer is a Director of Cape Coal and has 17 years combined experience in operational and project management environments, including positions in various senior management levels. Mr Van Deventer studied mining engineering as well as a masters degree in engineering (project management) at the University of Pretoria. In 1995 Mr Van Deventer joined Iscor as a bursary student and was appointed in 1998 as a graduate in training. Mr Van Deventer gained valuable experience on various operations, including Sishen Iron Ore and Grootegeluk Coal mines, he held various senior levels as well as managing several high performing opencast and underground operations.
Mr Van Deventer is currently the Operational Readiness Manager on the Prefeasibility Study of a multi-billion dollar underground coal project in Queensland. In his role as Operational Readiness Manager, Mr Van Deventer also gained extensive experience in completing various scoping studies, due diligence, value engineering, productivity, capital and operational cost reviews. Mr Van Deventer holds a Mine Managers Certificate for Fiery Mines, is a Professional Certificated Engineer registered with ECSA, a Chartered Professional Engineer MAusIMM(CP) and Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
Mr Peenze is a director of Cape Coal and has 13 years experience on opencast and underground mines, and exploration projects. Mr Peenze completed his degree and masters degree in geology at the University of Freestate. In 2002 Mr Peenze commenced work as a student geologist with Eyesizwe working on his published project “Roof stability problems in underground coal mines”. In 2004 Mr Peenze joined Kumba Resources and worked on Iron Ore and Coal operations and exploration projects. In 2006 Mr Peenze relocated to Australia to manage various major coal exploration projects in Queensland.
Mr Peenze is currently employed as a Senior Geologist, working on the Prefeasibility Study of a multi-billion dollar underground coal project in Queensland. In 2014 Mr Peenze completed his MBA and Masters Degree in Mineral Economics at Curtin University in Western Australia. Mr Peenze also holds various Australian competencies for safety and supervision and is a Chartered Professional with the AusIMM under the Discipline of Geology.
B Eng. Chemical Engineering
Mr Agenbag has 12 years’ experience in the mining industry covering all phases of business and project development, process design, commissioning and optimisation of processing facilities across multiple commodities. After completing his Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003, Mr Agenbag worked as a process design engineer at EPCM companies including GRD Minproc and DRA Mineral Projects. In 2008, Mr Agenbag moved to Australia to help build DRA's Brisbane office. His responsibilities included research and development of new business and client management in Southern Africa, Australia and Indonesia.
Mr Agenbag has substantial experience in beneficiation optimisation with emphasis on various technologies where he jointly holds patent rights and has delivered technical papers. More recently, he was responsible for the process engineering discipline across Peabody Energy Australia’s projects. Mr Agenbag is also affiliated with ECSA as Professional Engineer, Member of IEAust (Chem), and an active Member of Australian Coal Processing Society.
